Coverlove Friday #1

Since wednesday is my quoteday I thought it would be nice to make friday a day to share beautiful covers with you. Luckily, there are a lot of amazing covers out there :). We YA-readers are especially spoiled with pretty books, which is very neat because now my bookshelves look like an art storehouse! Art that I like to display every once in a while ;).

Today I chose to show you the covers of The Last Year series by Trisha Leigh. These are already amazing on their own, but when you put them together you get this:

How cool is that?

But, as readers we all know that you should never judge a book by it’s cover (although sometimes I do get tempted to do that haha) so here’s what the first book is about in short:

Aliens have taken over Earth and made humans compliant, happy folk. Nobody gets angry, sad or otherwise strongly emotional anymore. This also means that nobody loves or cares anymore. When somebody dies they are just forgotten.

But, some people are not so emotionless. Main character Althea does feel things. Even more strange, she travels through seasons. She spents Spring with one family, Autumn with another and Winter with yet another family. The only season that she never got to experience is Summer. Strangest of all is that she seems to be the only one noticing that she travels. Her three different set of parents certainly don’t seem to know she’s missing half of the time. And all her classmates seem to look straight through her. They seem to forget she exists right after they see her.

Needless, to say Althea is very lonely. Her only comfort is a strange note that she possesses that warns her not to share her secret of having emotions until she meets someone who is just like her. And, the new boy that showed up at her Autumn life seems to be the one she has waited for…

Now, if that doesn’t sound promising I don’t know what does ;). If you want to know what I thought about this series than hang on a little while because my review of the books will appear over the course of next week and the week after that :).
